Accounts are primarily located in the St Charles area with some accounts in neighboring towns like Wayne, Elgin, South Elgin and Barrington. The accounts are primarily residential customers, doctors offices and a local college.

The route is currently averaging approximately $3,200 per week in gross sales volume. The route generates approximately $1,000 per week in gross commissions based on an average 33% commission rate. This is a very convenient, low maintenance route with terrific growth potential for a motivated owner. The current owner works three and a half days per week with Fridays off and it requires approximately 25-30 total hours per week.

The territory rights are protected by the laundry care business. This is a turnkey delivery service route opportunity with reliable customers, consistent sales volume and support from a great local business.

WHAT ARE THE DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROUTE OWNER?

The route owner is responsible for servicing their customer base and ensuring that pickups and deliveries are made to the customer. There is flexibility in the days and hours as long as the customers are being serviced properly. The current owner typically works:

Monday 5:30am – 2:30pm (9 hours)
Tuesday 5:30am – 1:30pm (8 hours)
Wednesday 8:00am – 10:45am (2 hours and 45 min)
Thursday 5:30am – 1;00pm (7 hours)

GROSS EARNINGS/COMMISSIONS

This route is currently averaging approximately $3,200 in weekly sales volume. With an average commission rate of 33% the owner generates approximately $1,000 per week in gross commissions. Varying commission rates are paid to the route owner depending on the service the customer needs. The sales volume and commission earned can be confirmed through sales reports/invoices. OPERATING COSTS

Typical expenses include fuel/gas, vehicle insurance and vehicle maintenance. The owner also pays the laundry company 3% to handle all invoicing/billing.

Expenses will vary from owner to owner depending on how far they are from the territory, what type of vehicle they use, what rates they receive on insurance, etc. The current owner estimates $185 per week in operating costs which includes gas, insurance and maintenance. This leaves a weekly net of approximately $815.

GROWTH POTENTIAL

There are really unlimited possibilities for route growth. The current owner has not solicited new customers for several years. A motivated owner should be able to increase sales quite easily if they put in the time and effort to grow the business.

TRAINING

The current owner has agreed to provide training to the buyer. In addition to training from the current route owner, the company will provide some assistance when possible and will always provide administrative support.

SCHEDULE

The current route owner works Monday-Friday and typically a total of 25-30 hours per week. This route offers a ton of flexibility depending on what the new owner wants to generate income wise. They could scale it back, maintain the route as it currently stands, or add more accounts and grow the business. Vacations are generally no more than one week at a time. However, if someone wants vacation time, they would just need to have someone cover the route while they are gone. 

Owning a route means that you are an independent owner/operator/contractor. You are ultimately responsible for the success of the route operation. If you want to take time off you are free to do so, you just will not be earning any commissions during that time.
